20 FRANCS NAPOLEON III GOLD COIN, 1866 Obverse: Right-facing profile of the emperor wearing a laurel wreath. In a semicircle, the words “Napoleon III” are inscribed on the left and “Emperor” on the right. At the bottom center of the coin is the engraver’s signature (Barre). Reverse: All the imperial symbols are grouped on the reverse of this coin, namely: the eagle, the crown, the imperial mantle, the Cross of the Legion of Honor surmounted by an “N” for Napoleon, the scepter, and the hand of justice. Surrounding this group in a semicircle are the words “Empire Français.” The face value is placed on either side of the coin: “20” on the left and “FR” on the right. At the bottom of the coin is the year of issue, along with a letter preceding the date that indicates the mint. Pb: 6.4 g As is Sold by description
