This set of three ceramic dishes is produced by Wedgwood and features designs by Norman Wilson. The items are crafted in asymmetrical oval forms with shallow, organic profiles characteristic of the mid-century modern period. The collection includes one dish decorated with a transfer-printed central scrolled foliate motif and a corresponding wavy border with dots in a dark charcoal tone on a cream ground. A second dish is finished with an overall cream glaze. The third dish features a cream-glazed interior and a matte black glazed exterior and underside, identifying it as part of the Wedgwood Ravenstone line. The material is a fine earthenware consistent with the factory's Queen's Ware production. The undersides bear an impressed Wedgwood mark on the black-based dish and a printed Wedgwood mark with the initials N.W. for designer Norman Wilson on a white-based dish. Additional markings include a circular sticker identifying the items as part of the Rubin Collection.
