A Marc Davis Original Pirates of the Caribbean Concept Painting.

(WED, 1960s) An original developmental painting by Disney Legend Marc Davis for the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. One of Walt's Nine Old Men, Davis specialized in single images that told a story to be brought to life through audio-animatronics. This watercolor-and-ink painting of a pirate drinking and waving at Guests captures the skullduggery and humor of the New Orleans Square classic. This drawing has an image size of 9.5" x 11.5" on 10" x 12.25" visible paper, with the Studio cataloging stamp on the reverse. The entire matted piece measures 13.5" x 17.25". This rare artwork from Disneyland history displays in very good condition with spotting throughout, light creases, scratches, and wear to the matte, including some separation at the top left corner.
