Acrylics dissolved in epoxy resin on OSB - Oriented Strand Board (mixed media) This work is made on an OSB panel (Oriented Strand Board) on which I applied layers of acrylics and resin, leaving the wooden slats that compose it clearly visible. Downtown Series - With the Downtown series you perceive a vibrant, metropolitan energy, almost frenetic. Moving from the portraits and the intense, focused social themes of "Not your doll" to this urban landscape, I intend to explore the chaos and the lights of the city and how we position ourselves in this era on this planet. The depicted metropolis does not seem to be only a physical space, but a visual representation of the weight of our era. From a virgin forest that was our planet, humankind has arrived at colonizing and upending the environment, creating and shaping a habitat with its economic and social evolution. Each piece is safely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipping and will arrive in a completely secure package, including the Certificate of Authenticity. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork value. Born in 1974 I am self-taught. After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, setting sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but in the last period I am pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and actually existing. For me, painting is "freezing time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time." Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface. Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable by touch and to the naked eye. In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from bits of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and repeated grids with mathematical rigor that seen up close seem to form a colorful abstract picture but the further you move away the more a portrait figure emerges from the many discs painted. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce women's faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
