Rare and very pretty small antique Japanese porcelain vase, fine porcelain, with a hand-painted polychrome decor, red mark under the base, partially erased signature. Meiji period, circa 1880-1900. Decor unusually rich in flowers, butterflies and figurative reserves, representing on one side a geisha with a child, and on the other a moving samurai, on a turquoise background, all enhanced originally with gilding of which some traces remain. 14.5 cm high, about 13 cm maximum diameter, 6.5 cm diameter at the foot. Very good overall condition for its age; gilding worn, very discreet star crack on the upper part, patina inside, some small color enamel losses and manufacturing defects, notably a lack of enamel on a blue flower, a small chip under the base invisible when placed and not weakening, some stains at the neck as well as a tiny hole around the inner rim of the neck. Approximately 400-500 g.
