Antique, Silver-Plated Cufflinks with Niello, c. 1900

Some time ago, we were lucky enough to be able to purchase the estate of a jeweler, which contained numerous, apparently unworn pieces of jewellery from the c. 1900s. There were numerous brooches with garnets, bracelets and also several pairs of earrings that had survived the generations together as if in a time capsule. The gold and silver-plated metal cufflinks on display here come from this collection. The buttons feature a decorative checkerboard pattern, executed in a fine niello technique. Folding toggles make them easy to put on. The buttons are in very good condition and found their way to us here in Berlin. A wearable and decorative piece of jewelry history!
