ARPA Ceramica Spain Ceramic Sculpture, Bison

A stylized ceramic sculpture of an American bison identified as Ceramica Arpa. The piece features a robust, rounded form with a prominent shoulder hump and small, tapered legs, a design that shares significant visual characteristics with the mid-century model created by Kurt Tschorner for Ruscha Keramik. The sculpture is finished in a textured, mottled rust-orange glaze heavily accented with iridescent metallic lusters showing flashes of purple, gold, and green. The two small horns are finished in a contrasting smooth, glossy white glaze. The item is hollow built with a large circular aperture on the underside.
