All auctions / Arts & Graphics / B.F. Goodrich Tires Sign

Made in Canada. 1946 - 1958. Double-sided porcelain (DSP). The B.F. Goodrich "1870" emblem, featuring a wheat stalk, first appeared in 1930 to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary. Known as the "1870" campaign, it was introduced during an era when the tire industry was highly competitive. Goodrich wanted consumers to know it had been around since 1870 (they were the first tire factory in North America), meaning they endured tough times and yet remained a stable and professional fixture in the industry. The campaign proved highly successful. The company stopped using the "1870" campaign/emblem in 1958 when it modernized their logo and sales campaign. Marked, "P & M ORILLIA" lower right Authenticated by The Authentication Company (TAC #501935 ). All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. All purchases are eligible for free delivery to the Winter 2026 Dixie Gas Show on December 4th. From the Barry Yorgason Collection.
