Bruno Bani (1964) - Eclisse totale Foglia oro

Total Eclipse "Gold Leaf" - Bruno Bani (1964) Year: 2026 Color: White and gold Size: 40 x 40 x 8 Technique: Acrylic on canvas and Gold Leaf This extraordinary work by Bruno Bani, titled "Total Eclipse", perfectly exemplifies his ability to fuse geometry and light to create captivating and contemplative compositions. The piece is realized on two overlapped canvases, painted white and adorned with a round canvas on the surface, decorated with gold leaf. The white LED light inserted between the two canvases creates a suggestive eclipse effect, evoking the natural phenomenon with a unique simplicity and elegance. The geometry of the canvases is essential and precise: the lower square canvas supports the upper circular canvas, creating a visual contrast that immediately draws the eye. The circular shape, symbol of perfection and continuity, harmoniously integrates with the square, representing a balance between the material world and the celestial one. The use of pure white and gold leaf expresses timeless elegance. White, a symbol of purity and simplicity, contrasts with gold, which adds a touch of luxury and brightness. The gold leaf on the circular canvas reflects external light magnificently, amplifying the effect of the white LED light emanating between the two canvases. This combination creates a magical atmosphere, transforming the work into a unique visual and sensory experience. "Total Eclipse" symbolically represents the astronomical event of an eclipse, a recurring theme in Bruno Bani’s works, known for his ability to evoke space and its mysteries through the use of rigorous geometries and LED and UV lights. The LED light, with its soft glow, not only illuminates the piece but also creates a sense of depth and movement, making the eclipse visually tangible and immersive.
