Capodimonte - Porcellane Fabris - Sculpture - 38 cm - Biscuit porcelain

Capodimonte - Porcellane Fabris - Grand sculpture "Il Venditore di Angurie" (38 cm) Description: An impressive and extremely detailed polychrome biscuit porcelain sculpture by the renowned Italian studio Porcellane Fabris (Capodimonte). This monumental work, titled "Il Venditore di Angurie" (The Watermelon Vendor), captures the essence of mid-20th-century Italian neorealism. The narrative tableau shows a young street vendor counting his harvest under a rustic roof of wood and brick. The piece stands out for its rich array of details: from the paper money and coins in the bowl to the fine chains of the hanging scale, the oil lamp on the wall, and the signboard bearing the text "ANGURIE 2.075 il Kg". The oval porcelain base is finished around the rim with a gilded jewelry and pearl border. The underside features the original felt protective layer to protect furniture. Maker & Manufacturer: Manufacturer: Porcellane Fabris / Nuova Capodimonte (Italy), marked on the back with the iconic blue crowned 'N' (Crown-N stamp). Design & Style: Crafted in the tradition of the famous Capodimonte master Luigi Fabris and sculptors from the school of Giuseppe Cappè. Their figures are globally known for expressive facial expressions, masterful biscuit porcelain craftsmanship, and the deft capture of everyday Italian scenes. Dating: Circa 1960 – 1980. Specifications: Height: 38 cm Width: 27 cm Depth: 29 cm Weight: 4,520 grams (4.52 kg) Material: Hand-painted biscuit porcelain, gold accents Condition: In exceptionally good and rarely complete condition for a complex porcelain work of this size. All fragile components — including the loose chains of the scale, the bucket with peels, the dish, and the paper money — are fully intact. Only the extreme tip of the raised right index finger is missing; this is hardly noticeable in the overall image (see detail photo). Careful Packing & Shipping: Due to the sculpture's great fragility and weight, we employ a highly strict and professional packing method: 1. Initial protective layer: The sculpture is first completely and gently wrapped in special foam to prevent tape or mesh from catching on the delicate porcelain components or chains. 2. Buffer and stiffening layer: It is then abundantly wrapped with a thick layer of impact-absorbing bubble wrap and provided with sturdy cardboard protection. 3. Outer packaging: The object is placed in a roomy, double-walled box with sufficient filling material all around. Fast, fully insured shipping with Track & Trace is offered.
