Carl Barks (American 1901-2000) Gold Plate Edition Lithograph, First

Lithograph on opalescent embossed paper, titled First National Bank of Cibola, is by the American artist and Disney cartoonist Carl Barks. The composition is based on Barks' original oil painting and depicts Uncle Scrooge McDuck along with Huey, Dewey, and Louie discovering an immense hoard of gold coins and turquoise jewelry in the fabled Seven Cities of Cibola. The work is a Gold Plate Edition, printed on iridescent, opalescent embossed paper with a silk texture. It is hand-numbered in pencil 11/100 in the lower-left margin and bears the artist's hand-signature in pencil in the lower-right margin. An embossed seal is visible next to the signature reading 1987 The Walt Disney Company surrounding an AR logo for the publisher, Another Rainbow Publishing. The lithograph is presented in a gold-toned metal frame with a mauve mat. Affixed to the verso is a detailed Certificate of Authenticity (COA) identifying the printer as The Black Box, Chicago, and providing further details on the edition.
