A stoneware vase by Charles Fergus Binns (American, 1857-1934), dated 1930. The vessel is characterized by a bulbous-bodied form with a narrow, waisted neck that terminates in a wide, flared rim, resting on a short, slightly recessed foot. It is finished in a lustrous, metallic black glaze displaying subtle iridescent qualities and minor surface mottling. The base features an incised monogram with the letters CFB in a stylized arrangement, located above the incised date 1930. Several identification and inventory labels are adhered to the base, including a rectangular paper label with the text Binns and #3, and a circular white R.A.A.C. 0011 sticker.
