Less than two months before his death (29 May 1574), at the age of 24. He commends to Matignon Monsieur de SAINT-LÉGER, who has ‘on every occasion demonstrated his goodwill and devotion to serving my interests’, and who has gathered “a good number of gentlemen, his friends, with whom he is setting out to join you to serve me in Normandy”. He asks Matignon to welcome him warmly, and “that when he and his party arrive in your vicinity, you may provide him with lodgings and all necessities as favourably as you possibly can, employing him on the fine occasions that may arise for the benefit of my said service”…
