CHINA--FOREIGN BANKS. Russo-Chinese Bank. 1 Mexican Dollar, 1901-02. P-S536a. PMG Very Fine 20. Shanghai. This is the first series of banknotes issued by the Shanghai branch, denominated in Mexican Dollars. This design is a refreshing departure from contemporary designs, thanks to its bold use of colour on delicate French paper. Quite rare, with only ten notes graded by PMG and very popular with local collectors. PMG Comments "Tape Repair, Minor Rust." Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000. Provenance: From a New York Gentleman's Collection.

Estimate:£1,135.11
