Chris Jorgensen (American, 1860-1935) Glacial Mountain Lake, Watercolor

A light-filled mountain landscape executed in watercolor on paper by noted California plein-air artist Chris Jorgensen. The sweeping composition centers on a brilliant turquoise glacial lake nestled before a dramatic backdrop of rugged, snow-dusted peaks. Jorgensen emphasizes the sharp geological textures of the alpine rock faces and the shifting, luminous reflections across the water's surface, stylistic hallmarks consistent with his documented expeditions into Yosemite and the Canadian Rockies. The work is signed Chris Jorgensen in the lower-left corner and is housed in a gilt-composition Art Nouveau style frame enriched with organic, flowing foliate corner ornaments. Sight size: 11"W x 14.50"H. Dimensions: 16"W x 20"H Weight: 5. lbs Condition Request Condition Report Good.
