apoleon III – Antique Napoleon III crumb catcher set with tray and brush – Black painted tin with oriental decoration – Second half of the 19th century Exquisite Napoleon III crumb catcher set, consisting of a black-lacquered tray and a curved brush, both decorated in tôle peinte with finely executed oriental motifs. The tray features a scene with a bird perched on a flowering cherry branch, butterflies and details in golden and reddish tones, all on a deep black background that enhances the painting. The brush, with light bristles, shows a coordinated decoration with floral motifs and butterflies, maintaining the aesthetic harmony of the set. Very well preserved; pattern very well detailed with no losses. It is worth noting a slight warp in the handle, reflected in the penultimate images. Elegant and functional sidepiece for formal service to remove crumbs; today highly valued as a decorative or collectible object. Its refined design and the quality of the painting make it a standout example of French production in the second half of the nineteenth century.
