David Law - The Dreamed Shadows I

ew Series – The Dreamed Shadows Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Imagery Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection. New Series – The Dreamed Shadows The Dreamed Shadows explore the boundary between presence and disappearance. A female silhouette emerges through backlit veils, forming an image that seems both real and dreamlike.
