Dominion Automobile Association DAA Sign

Made in Canada. 1969. Double-sided painted metal (DSPM). Manufactured as an official approval marker for verified hotels, motels, and automotive repair garages across Canada. The Dominion Automobile Association (DAA) was founded in 1948 as a major competitor to the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA). The DAA provided emergency roadside service, travel routing, and hotel guides to motorists. Signs reading "recommended" were distributed to premier roadside motels, diners, and mechanics that met the association's standards, acting as a trusted seal of quality for families traveling on Canada's expanding highway networks. Marked, "PROPERTY OF DOMINION AUTOMOBILE ASSOC. W.M.S. 69 MADE IN CANADA" lower border on one side. Authenticated by The Authentication Company (TAC #501894). All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. All purchases are eligible for free delivery to the Winter 2026 Dixie Gas Show on December 4th. From the Barry Yorgason Collection.
