Late Period, ca. 664 - 332 BC. > An agate scarab with the beetle carved in rounded relief, the head and wing cases separated by incised lines. Set in a hallmarked 18K gold pendant mount, the scarab is enclosed by a close-fitting oval frame bordered with twisted wire and backed by a plain gold plate.
