The mahogany frame is decorated with gilt-bronze mounts, including a central crest on the curved top rail depicting two swans flanking a classical urn. The armrests terminate in detailed classical female busts with Egyptian-influenced headpieces over square-section supports. The straight front legs feature foliate scroll mounts and terminate in lion-paw sabots, while the rear legs are of splayed sabre form. Upholstered in a cream-colored silk damask with a repeating diapered pattern of laurel-leaf diamonds enclosing woven motifs of a lyre, a peacock, a swan, and a winged putto with garlands.
