Etui à montre en cuir / Buggy/sleigh watch case

Canadian. A scarce buggy/sleigh leather watch case that attaches to the sloping board in front of the driver of horse-drawn vehicles, also known as a footstool clock. Includes the original leather flap to cover the watch when not in use and a gold filled Waltham pocket watch with chain. Late 19th century.
