Filiberto Petiti (1845–1924) - Otto schizzi originali – Provenienza

Filiberto Petiti Turin, 1845 – Rome, 1924 Eight sketches of different subjects, circa 1880–1920. Collection composed of eight original studies executed in pencil, graphite and ink on paper, presented together in a single frame. The sheets depict different subjects: wooded landscapes and architectural views, a boat, male figures, a knight seen from behind, a cat, and a study of costume. Some of the sketches bear the artist’s signature. The dimensions vary from about 5.5 × 3 cm for the smallest sheet, to about 10 × 10 cm for the largest. The set documents Filiberto Petiti’s working method and his attention to direct observation of landscape, figures, and animals. The immediate, non-academic character of the sheets returns to their original function as notes, studies, and visual annotations created by the artist.
