This fine stoneware pitcher was manufactured by the Herculaneum Pottery of Liverpool, England. The body features a molded basketweave texture and is decorated with two applied oval medallions with white relief scenes on a deep terracotta-red ground. One medallion depicts a seated female figure with a winged Cupid, while the other shows a seated woman with a child. The pitcher exhibits an Etruscan form with a high-set, angular handle and a wide, pinched pouring spout. It is finished with dark red line accents along the rim and handle and a decorative border of impressed circular rosettes around the shoulder. The underside of the base bears a clear impressed Herculaneum mark and features two collection labels, including a silver sticker for the Rubin Collection numbered 1107.
