This model features a refined “Damascus” construction with a high-hardness SK5 carbon steel blade (about HRC 60), valued for its excellent cutting ability and long edge retention. The minimalist, functional design is typical of authentic Higonokami: manual opening via rear lever ("chikiri"), slim profile and essential lines that recall the Japanese culture of the traditional utilitarian knife. The brass handle is adorned with inscriptions in Japanese and a terminal hole for a lanyard, a practical and characteristic detail of Japanese everyday knives.
