Icon - Christ Pantocrator - Wood

Ancient Orthodox icon painted in oil on wood depicting the "Salvator Mundi", Christ blessing, holding the terrestrial globe, enclosed in a shaped frame gilded in gold leaf that shows wear over time. The Christ, in a red robe and blue mantle, with the right hand raised in blessing and the left supporting the globe of the world surmounted by the cross. The iconography and the typology recall devotional painting from the Eastern Russia milieu of the 19th century. The shaped frame, contoured on the sides and finished with gilding typical of frames from the period for this type of work.
