Jean Pons Guillaume VIENNET, Deputy, Peer of France, playwri - Lot 592

Jean Pons Guillaume VIENNET, Deputy, Peer of France, playwright (Béziers 1777 - 1868) - Letter A. S. Paris April 20, 1862 (addressed to Marie-Laetitia BONAPARTE-WYSE, known as Princesse Marie de SOLMS): "Dear Divine. Your Friday is ill-timed for me, at the hour when you close your doors, I shall begin the reading of my Tragedy of Achilles at M. LACROIX's house. The day has been taken for two weeks, and you'll forgive me if I miss your evening. All I have left is this compensation for so much dramatic work, three tragedies performed and seven unpublished ones! What will I do with all that if charitable souls don't occasionally show me the desire to hear one of them!..." 1p in-8°.
