Brooch of a Gentleman. Antique gilt silver and gold-filled? mounted oval form brooch displaying a central portrait plaque of a gentleman with a surround of blue enamel work accented by rose cut diamonds and a second tier of seed pearls. Please take note that gold-tone mounting is a combination of gilt silver and presumably gold-filled - extensive testing was not completed due to fear of damage. Total approx. weight of the brooch is 27.1 grams (gross). From a Greenwich, CT estate. Dimensions: brooch measures approx. 1.65" w x 1.98" h. Condition: Good, with minor dents/dings & light surface scratches. Small area of enamel loss. Portrait has not been examined unmounted.
