European School (20th Century) - "The Girl in Blue" (from Amedeo Modigliani) - Oil on canvas applied on board - 1930 Fascinating oil painting on canvas applied on board dating from 1930, which reproduces and reinterprets the famous subject "The Girl in Blue" by Amedeo Modigliani. The work stands out from classic commercial copies for its historical significance (executed only 12 years after Modigliani's original) and for a painter's hand that softens the typically expressionist features of the Livorno master, giving the girl's face a sweeter, more realistic and closer expression. The painting is signed by the author of the copy and dated "1930" in the lower right corner. The back preserves the original protective lining in decorative paper with small geometric motifs, typical of the early 1900s. The work is embellished with a substantial contemporaneous wooden frame, worked and lacquered. A vintage piece with great decorative impact, ideal for collectors of 20th-century portraiture or lovers of author reinterpretations. • General conditions: Good/Fair given the age (almost a century old). • Painted surface: It presents a widespread and natural network of craquelure (age cracks) that attest to the painting's authenticity and era. Noted are small localized color losses: a dark spot on the dark brown background on the right, a small vertical scratch near the right edge and a small circular lesion on the light background to the left of the figure. • Back and Frame: The protective paper on the back has two conspicuous tears/rips.
