Karel Jongelinghs (1871-?) - Portret van een jonge dame

The portrait was likely painted in Antwerp. The signature is unmistakable: K. Jongelingh. The dating is also clearly visible: 1878. The addition AVS probably indicates that the portrait was painted in Antwerp. Other sources indicate that AVS could also stand for Amsterdam. The painting was once purchased by my mother-in-law with money from an inheritance. Unfortunately there is no description of the portrait (anymore) available. There is a small damage to the portrait; this concerns a piece of the background. The depicted lady is completely intact. The frame is original, with the original nails and pegs on the back as well.

Estimate:£423.18
