KOREA. 1/4 Yang, Year 505 (1896). Incheon Mint. Kojong (as King). PCGS MS-64. KM-1110. EXTREMELY RARE when preserved this attractive, this 1/4 Yang offers a pleasing bloom of mint luster, with a sharpness to the strike that is quite appealing. We can only find one similarly graded example of this date trading, an NGC MS-65 specimen which realized a hammer price of $3500 in 2013. Given the sharp uptick in the Korean market in the intervening time, it would not be a surprise for this specimen to realize a truly phenomenal price. Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000.
