Luciano Binda De Gastaldi (1927-1989) - The High Society

- Oil on panel. Hand-signed. - In this Binda de Gastaldi canvas, the staging of the Colón Theatre’s palco transcends a mere period portrait to become a corrosive radiography of Patricia’s vacuity. Three generations of haughty gazes — incarnated in the matriarch’s impertinent twins, the mother’s icy composure, and the daughter’s already learned apathy — attest to the hereditary transmission of snobbery as the only unshakeable patrimony. For this vernacular aristocracy, opera is not a temple of music nor a space for the sublime delight of art, but a simple social showcase: a display where velvet, elaborate hairstyles, and ceremonial pomp serve to scrutinize the rest of the auditorium, reaffirming the relevance of their own class privileges while the performance unfolds behind them as mere background noise. - Image dimensions without frame: 67 x 47 cm / 81 x 61 cm with exclusive custom frame. In Montbaron Gallery, we are pleased to offer our clients an exclusive selection of artworks, all of them unique, original, and irreplaceable. Certain lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit granted by the Ministry of Culture. Although this is an administrative procedure, it is indispensable to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free circulation internationally. Montbaron Gallery is committed to offering its clients original, unique, and irreplaceable artworks, guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of each piece in our collection. To ensure transparency and confidence in every acquisition, we offer a digital Guarantee Certificate, signed by a certified art historian. This certificate certifies that the acquired work has been authenticated by our specialists, who verify its authorship, origin, and condition. The Guarantee Certificate includes complete details about the piece, such as author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Guarantee Certificate will be issued upon the client’s request, providing an official reference for the acquired piece. This document will be sent in digital format and will be signed by an art historian from our gallery, ensuring its validity and backing. We are committed to our clients’ satisfaction and trust, so any questions about the authenticity or condition of the work will be addressed professionally and diligently. To request your Guarantee Certificate, please contact us through our usual channels. It is important to note that the shipping cost prices listed in the advertisement are indicative and subject to modification depending on various circumstances. Our goal is to offer the best possible service, adapting to each client’s needs and ensuring the artwork reaches its destination quickly and safely, with no surprises. The frame shown in the previous images has been added to the artwork by a third party or by the seller, so it is not an integral part of the object. This frame is provided to you at no additional cost so that, when the work arrives at your home, it can be displayed immediately on your wall. Consequently, damages to the frame that do not affect the integrity of the work will not be valid grounds for making a claim or requesting a cancellation.
