Canadian. A naive double-wall box in original red paint with prominent black lettering for "Spoons, Knives and Forks". Nailed construction, square nails, pine with hardwood backboard. Illustrated in "Spirit of Nova Scotia: Traditional decorative folk art, 1780-1930" by Richard Henning Field, plate 174. Lunenburg County. 1860-1880. Marked, "Spoons, Knives & Forks".
