When, after the long years of war, food shortages, currency reform and the first reconstruction, the lust for life returned to German cities and living rooms, and when the economic miracle brought the first new prosperity to the centers of industry and commerce, the art of jewelry design also awoke to new life after many years of dreamless slumber. Rich gold and brightly colored stones radiated optimism and prosperity. This pair of cufflinks from the years of the German economic miracle is a particularly colorful sight. Made around 1955, the buttons each feature a natural colored stone set in yellow gold: an amethyst, a citrine, a green and a pink tourmaline have been cut into oval cabochons. A shadow gap with a simple frame surrounds the gemstones and protects them at the same time. The gemstones are connected with elongated yellow gold clasps and can be combined as desired. The buttons came to us from Hamburg. They are in very good condition and are a colorful and stylish eye-catcher on the shirt.
