A massive Japanese Imari hard-paste porcelain charger, crafted during the Meiji period (19th century). Designed with a broad, deep cavetto terminating in a scalloped rim, the charger is densely decorated in a vibrant palette of underglaze blue, iron-red enamels, and gilt detailing. The central medallion features an intricate floral design with butterflies, bordered by alternating fan-shaped reserves and shaped panels with chrysanthemums, peonies, and traditional Japanese garden landscapes and scenes.
