Night Owl - Ethan Newman

Night Owl by Ethan Newman Painting 24.0 x 30.0 :: This painting is part of a larger series of works all executed over the last year or so. Instead of employing my usual working methods where I continually scrape away and build up the surface these works are entirely additive with nothing being taken away. It was a challenge to work this way but the end result is a work that dances between painting and sculpture. Using putty knives and no brushes I apply thick passages of paint mixed with marble dust sand and other debris over an extended period of time until the surface feels unified and the work reaches a certain equilibrium. :: Type: Painting Medium: Oil Style: Abstract Expressionism Subject: Abstract Width: 24.0 Height: 30.0 Depth: 2 Weight: 14 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
