Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve —Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug — Circa 1920 Size: 6 ft 10 in x 4 ft 4 in (2.08 m x 1.32 m) Provenance: Property of a New York dealer A bold Kazak rug with a deep blue and a vertical arrangement of large red geometric medallions. Strong hooked outlines, ivory accents, and smaller tribal devices give the composition a powerful, almost heraldic character. Its saturated coloration and highly graphic drawing make it an excellent example of the visual strength associated with Caucasian village carpets.
