Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Antique Sarouk Farahan Rug, Central Persia, late 19th century Size: 6 ft 4 in x 4 ft (1.93 m x 1.22 m) Provenance: From a collection of a retired New York rug dealer A finely proportioned antique Sarouk Farahan rug representing the accomplished nineteenth-century weaving traditions of central Persia. Sarouk Farahan carpets are admired for combining the disciplined drawing of urban workshop production with the individuality associated with regional weaving. Their designs frequently feature floral medallions, delicate vine systems and carefully balanced borders executed with clarity and restraint. The present rug’s compact format makes it particularly appealing to collectors. At the same time, its balanced proportions allow it to function effectively in an entrance, beside a bed, beneath a table, or as a wall-displayed textile. It's offered without reserve and is an accessible opportunity to acquire a collectible central Persian rug. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #450 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear. Both ends are original and complete but need hand-securing. The sides are securely finished. There is no dryness in the foundation.
