The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712G-001 combines the unmistakable architecture of the Nautilus collection with an asymmetric complication display and understated 18K white gold construction. Unlike the bracelet versions of the Nautilus, this reference is paired with a black alligator leather strap, giving the watch a more refined and dress-oriented character. The approximately 40 mm 18K white gold case surrounds a slate gray dial featuring the distinctive horizontally embossed Nautilus pattern. The dial incorporates a power-reserve indicator, subsidiary seconds, and a combined date and moon-phase display, creating an intentionally asymmetric arrangement that has become one of the defining features of the 5712. The watch is powered by the ultra-thin automatic Patek Philippe Caliber 240 PS IRM C LU. The movement provides hours, minutes, small seconds, date, moon phase, and power-reserve indication, with approximately 38 to 48 hours of power reserve. Its micro-rotor architecture helps maintain the relatively slim profile of the case. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the transparent sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the finely decorated movement. The black alligator leather strap is secured by an 18K white gold folding clasp. Water resistance up to 60 meters adds everyday practicality to this highly recognizable Nautilus complication.
