Precious Ring with Antique 1.30 ct Cushion Cut Diamond in Platinum

Today, diamonds are almost exclusively cut in the brilliant cut. The cut is standardized and - unfortunately - sometimes a little lifeless. How much more interesting is an individual cut that turns the stone into something unique? In this ring, we see a diamond with a special cut. The stone is faceted in a cushion shape, a so-called "old mine cut". It has a slightly warm tint (in color grade "J") and has been graded as SI2. It therefore has small inclusions; these are small carbon inclusions on the side of the table. However, these are very inconspicuous and hardly diminish the brilliance of the stone. Three smaller diamonds accompany the center stone on the left and right. The stones are arranged in a triangle and lead over to the delicate ring band. All of the diamonds are held in place by delicate platinum prongs, which are completely subdued in their white coloration and allow the brilliant stones to take precedence. We discovered the high-quality diamond in Paris and had it re-set here in Berlin. We used recycled platinum for the setting and vintage diamonds from other pieces of jewellery for the smaller diamonds on the right and left.
