This necklace is a celebration of color: Warm sunny yellow and an intense, tropical green put you in a summery vacation mood. At the center of the design is a large, high-quality emerald. The stone is intensely green and very transparent; it has only been treated with a small amount of oil (minor oil), which is a special quality feature of emeralds. It very probably comes from an African deposit. The emerald is held by wide, geometrically designed frames made of gold and diamonds. The design is symmetrical and appears to lift the emerald up from below, giving the impression that the stone is floating between the gold frames. The diamonds are set with equal skill; they are also set in channel settings and appear to float. A wide flat curb chain turns the showpiece into a necklace. The necklace was created in the southern German manufactory of Georg H. Leicht for the Jeweller Leicht range. We date it to around 1990. An independent expert opinion on the quality of the materials is enclosed with the necklace.
