Precious Vintage Ring with Sapphires & Diamonds in Gold, c. 1990

This ring is a real showstopper! In fact, it could almost be three rings in one, as the design plays with the illusion that several bands have been stacked together. But let’s take a closer look. Seven intensely blue sapphires are set alongside brilliantly white diamonds. The sapphires are of exceptional quality — completely transparent, with a colour that is perfectly balanced: neither too dark nor too light. The sparkling diamonds between them rest on golden arches, so that, when viewed from above, the entire arrangement appears as though the goldsmith had woven a precious fabric out of coloured light. Naturally, high-carat gold has been used to complement the sapphires and diamonds. Viewed from the side, from the ring’s shoulders, the goldsmith has created the illusion that this is not one ring but three. And although the ring is quite wide, it still appears light and refined rather than heavy. We discovered the ring in Bavaria and were immediately captivated by the intense colour of the sapphires. To confirm the quality of the materials, we also commissioned an independent expert report. The ring is in excellent condition, and we believe it was created around 1990.
