Spectacular slab with 2 complete specimens of Domfrontia milnerorum, a primitive and enigmatic echinoderm that lived during the Ordovician. Domfrontia milnerorum is a very rare species. The slabs contain 2 complete specimens. There is a slab and a counter-slab. Specimens with this level of preservation are extremely rare. The contrast of the fossils with the matrix is spectacular. The extraordinary preservation of the fossils allows observing in every kind of detail the delicate structures of Domfrontia. A specimen worthy of a museum. Plastic stands included. Matrix 1 measurements: 553 g; 20 x 7.5 x 2.3 cm Matrix 2 measurements: 321 g; 15 x 7.5 x 1.5 cm The Fezouata Formation deposits, near the Moroccan town of Zagora, are providing a rich and varied record of fossils with extraordinary preservation, to the point where soft parts or soft-bodied animals are frequently preserved. This type of preservation is similar, though later in time, to that of the famous Burgess Shale (Canada). These are fossils dating between 480 and 472 million years ago. Back then Morocco was an ocean and located at the South Pole.
