For sale is a rare, authentic original from mid-century: an octagonal side/coffee table made of solid, heavy rosewood/palisander (Sheesham), crafted circa 1950. The table is a wonderful example of the early mid-century style, marrying organic materials with strict geometric form. The tabletop captivates with its extremely lively and contrasting grain, beautifully documenting the fiery character of the genuine rosewood heartwood. The piece shows masterful, traditional craftsmanship: the four elegant, downward-tapering legs are integrated as a continuous, structural frame-leg connection flush directly into the top of the frame construction. The underside is constructed in classic frame-building style with grooved inserts. A sturdy, characterful, and storied collectible for lovers of mid-century design. Age-appropriate, in very good, sturdy, and well-maintained vintage condition. The surface has been carefully cared for with a professional furniture scratch remover. The original patina and the spectacular wood figure remain fully intact; fine, superficial scratches have largely been concealed, but upon close inspection they are still barely perceptible due to age.
