Fascinating original advertising poster for GITANES Cigarettes, illustrated by the renowned French artist René Vincent, one of the most important illustrators of the early 20th century, known for his elegant and dynamic style linked to Art Deco and vintage advertising graphics. The subject depicts the famous dancing female figure, an iconic symbol of the Gitanes brand, rendered with flowing lines and strong color contrast. The composition is highly theatrical: the movement of the figure, together with the dark silhouette and chromatic details, creates a visually striking and highly recognizable image. The lot includes: • Gitanes poster • Visible printed signature “René Vincent” • Editorial indication: ADAGP Paris 1995 • Print produced by Imprimerie St. Martin – Paris Dimensions: • approximately 54 x 40 cm Condition: • generally good condition • evident signs of aging, light creases, small surface marks and slight waviness of the paper • overall well preserved with graphics still very vivid and legible René Vincent is regarded as one of the masters of French advertising illustration, active between the 1920s and 1940s, author of iconic posters for automobiles, fashion and mass-market products. His works are today highly sought after by collectors for elegance, modernity and historical value. An iconic and highly decorative poster, perfect for collectors of advertising posters or for spaces with a vintage and retro taste. ⸻
