Established in 1770, Yardley London is among the world's oldest cosmetics houses. Its hallmark English Lavender fragrance, introduced in 1873, came to define the brand. Renowned for using Lavandula angustifolia cultivated in Southern England, Yardley rose to prominence in the 1910s and 1920s, popularizing the iconic "Lavender Seller" motif and earning multiple Royal Warrants. This polychrome glazed ceramic advertising figure group was produced by Royal Doulton for Yardleys of London. The composition features a central female figure in a red gown, white shawl, and yellow bonnet, accompanied by two children at either side. Each figure carries a woven basket filled with sprigs of purple lavender. The group stands on an integral oval base finished in black glaze, with the front bearing the white printed inscription "Yardleys Old English Lavender" in a stylized Gothic font. The underside is marked with the Royal Doulton backstamp. Dimensions: 6.00"L x 3.50"W x 9.00"H Weight: 1.00 lb 5.20oz Condition Request Condition Report Good
