All auctions / Contemporary Art / Sagrasse (1966) - XOXO
THE SHIPMENT MAY ARRIVE AFTER SEPTEMBER 7, 2026 Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is an artist from the Marche region whose life roots in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small town among the Marche hills, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome plating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his craft into a language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - XOXO Resin - Hand-signed - 2021 Technique: resin and marble dust Dimensions: 40x38x16 cm Condition: new. Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed. Edition: limited edition 100 ex White and gold The work will be carefully packaged and shipped by courier with tracking. In recent years his work has achieved important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Among these are the appearance at the Contemporary Art Exhibition “Arte Venezia” in 2025, the collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned private collection Fuser. From craftsman to sign of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse shows how a lifetime of experience can become pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly within the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. If the comparison to Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handcrafted work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual craftsmanship. It is advisable not to expose to heat sources; clean only with a soft cloth, without detergents.
