Sheraton Sewing Table

Canadian. A Sheraton mahogany sewing stand with turned and reeded legs resting on brass casters. The drawers have diamond-shaped bone escutcheons and are flanked by reeded panels, constructed in pine with mahogany veneer. The knobs are original, and the leaves are supported by butterfly flaps. Found in the Niagara region but possibly from the Maritimes. Second quarter 19th century. Unmarked.
