THE KING'S JOURNEY through the eastern departments and to the Lunéville military training camp. September 1828. Paris, De l'Imprimerie royale, 1828. In-8, red morocco leather, covers framed by a rich gilt garland, partly featuring fleurs-de-lis, set within a border of fillets, cold-stamped palmette wheel, coat of arms in the center, decorated spine, small gilded fleur-de-lis in three panels, interior frame adorned with a delicate garland of vine leaves edged with a gilded mesh, green moiré endpapers and linings, gilt edges (Contemporary binding). First edition. Account of King Charles X’s (1757–1836) official journey through the eastern departments of France. A fine copy, in a lovely, very delicately gilded binding bearing the coat of arms of the Duchess of Berry. A heraldic ex-libris from the Rosny Library (1837, no. 1360) pasted onto the lining of the front cover. Slight traces of moisture on the lining and endpapers.
