Il documento è un decreto del 12 luglio 1784 del Gran Maestro e del Sacro Consiglio dell'Ordine di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme (Ordine di Malta) volto a definire ufficialmente le prerogative del Ven. Turcopiliere, dignità appartenente alla Lingua d'Inghilterra e responsabile della difesa terrestre dell'isola di Malta. La relazione ricostruisce la normativa vigente attraverso statuti medievali, decreti del Sacro Consiglio e soprattutto la Bolla di Niccolò V del 1448, stabilendo che il Turcopiliere esercita il comando sulle guardie, sui Turcopoli, sui Bandolieri e sui Vigliacomiti, distribuisce i servizi militari, impartisce la parola d'ordine, dirige le ispezioni delle fortificazioni e sovrintende alla disciplina delle truppe. Il decreto ribadisce inoltre i rapporti di subordinazione con il Gran Maestro e precisa le procedure di nomina e sospensione degli ufficiali dipendenti, ponendo fine a precedenti controversie interpretative. Nel lotto anche una copia del medesimo arricchita da maggiori note, prodromo a una breve relazione contenuta nelle pagine 15 e 16 dove si discute un piccolo caso di giurisdizione sulla punizione di un soldato colpevole di schiamazzi Folio (330 x 230mm) 4 carte (segni d'uso) [IN LOTTO CON:] Decreto di sua altezza eminentissima e suo sag. consiglio sulle premineneze del ven. turcopiliere.
