Vintage Guatemala Sterling Silver Aztec Style Convertible Brooch Pin

Sterling silver convertible jewelry piece functioning as both a pendant and a brooch pin, featuring a large circular openwork frame. The center contains a two-tone motif depicting a bird. The reverse is fitted with a fixed bail and a pin stem with a safety catch. The piece is suspended from an Italian sterling silver box chain with a spring ring clasp. The reverse of the pendant bears vertical marks reading GUATE above 900. The chain clasp tags are marked FAS, 925, and ITALY. Although the pendant bears a 900 stamp, it tested as sterling silver with Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Precious Metal Analyzer.
